Why would a trade fail?
Trades on Cronos app have a high success rate, but occasionally one will not go through. The most common reasons are:
Rapid price movement: The asset price moved significantly between the time you reviewed the order and tapped Confirm. Rather than executing at a price far from what you expected, Cronos app rejects the trade to protect you.
Insufficient balance: Your available balance is lower than the trade amount. This can happen if another trade settled in between or if a recent deposit has not yet arrived.
Temporary network issue: A brief connectivity problem between your device and our systems prevented the trade from completing.
Asset temporarily unavailable: In rare cases, trading for a specific asset may be paused due to a corporate action or market event.
What happens to my funds?
Nothing. If a trade fails, no funds leave your account. Your balance stays exactly as it was before you attempted the trade. You are never charged for a trade that does not execute.
What should I do?
When a trade fails, you will see a notification explaining what happened. In most cases you can simply try again:
If the failure was due to price movement, the app will show you the updated price. Decide whether you still want to proceed at the new price.
If the failure was due to a network issue, wait a few seconds and retry.
If the asset is temporarily paused, the app will tell you when trading is expected to resume.
Questions
How do I know if my trade failed?
You will see a notification immediately after the attempt, indicating that the trade did not go through and a brief reason why.
Will repeated failures affect my account?
No. Failed trades have no impact on your account standing. You can retry as many times as you like.
My trade failed but my balance seems lower.
Your balance may temporarily show as reduced while a pending attempt is being resolved. If a trade truly failed, the full amount will be restored within a few moments. If your balance does not return after a few minutes, contact support.
What if I keep getting failures on the same asset?
If a specific asset is failing repeatedly, it may be temporarily paused or experiencing unusual market conditions. Try again later or check the asset detail page for any notices.
