How to cancel an order

This article explains how order execution works on Cronos app spot trading and what to do if you change your mind after placing a trade

Steps

1. Spot trades on Cronos app execute immediately when you tap Confirm. There's no order book queue and no cancellation window. You may briefly see a "Placing your order" state while the trade finalizes, but it completes within seconds and can't be cancelled.

2. Before tapping Confirm, use the review screen to check the asset, amount, and estimated price. This is your last chance to make changes.

3. If you change your mind before confirming, tap the back arrow or close the trade screen. Nothing will be submitted.

4. If you already confirmed and the trade went through, you can sell the asset immediately. Go to your portfolio, tap the asset, and tap Sell.

Questions

I accidentally bought the wrong asset. Can I reverse it?

Executed trades cannot be reversed, but you can sell the asset immediately. Go to your portfolio, tap the asset, tap Sell, and confirm. Because spot trades execute instantly in both directions, you can exit within seconds.

Why is there no cancel button?

Cronos app uses market orders for spot trading, which fill immediately at the best available price. There is no delay between confirmation and execution, so there is no window in which to cancel. This is the same as how instant-execution works on apps like Robinhood.

I saw a pending notification after my trade. Does that mean I can cancel?

No. A pending notification means the system is finalizing your trade. It will complete within a few seconds. This is not a cancellable state.
